Unlike other greases, Epiroc Bio Chisel Paste is easy to transport as it is not categorized as dangerous goods. Also the “best before” date is always five years after the date of manufacture instead of two, as is the case with most other greases. Less grease consumption and cartridges with 10% bigger volume reduce the transportation and logistics capacity needed.

Chisel paste grease
Standard chisel paste greases (i.e., those used on excavator bearings) are not designed for the high temperatures that result from the friction between the working tool, bushings, and retainer bars when the hydraulic breaker is in operation. They liquefy and disappear. Without greasing, the parts involved in the friction will suffer from accelerated wear.
Breaker grease is a mineral-oil-based paste containing an aluminium content soap and solid lubricants (such as graphite and copper) with excellent release effect and ambient working temperature range from -20°C to 1100°C/(-4°F to 2012°F), suitable for applications both in cold weather and in high temperatures. High metal content acts ball bearing to minimize high-temperature friction between the surfaces in contact, resulting in less wear between the chisel, retainer bars, and bushings. As a result, Epiroc Chisel Paste reduces the cost of operation by extending the lifetime of the wear parts and reducing the risk of working tool fractures.

Bio breaker grease

Epiroc Bio chisel paste is a breakthrough product of the year for the construction and mining industry. The product is approved from the European commission for usage in environmental sensitive applications. The formulation is based on special synthetic esters that are easily biodegradable.
The Bio chisel paste grease is specially made for hydraulic breakers for lubricating the wear bushings to avoid both wear as well as working tool breakage.
Inside the hydraulic breakers, the ambient working temperature reaches up to 1100°C under extreme load.
The standard breaker greases available in the market are suitable for use in bearings BUT they liquefy and disappear at high temperatures. Without adequate greasing, the parts suffer accelerated wear, thereby increasing the cost of operation.
