You make a big difference in the energy transition

Did you know that the mining industry plays a crucial role in the energy transition? Demand for critical metals and minerals will sharply increase as we transition to a climate-neutral society. Our role is to help extract these minerals and metals in the most efficient and environmentally friendly way possible.

Substances such as lithium, nickel, cobalt and graphite are necessary for future electric motors and wind turbines. Demand for copper, which is needed for new electricity networks, is also expected to increase dramatically.

A report by the International Energy Agency (IEA) concluded that if we are to meet net-zero as a global goal, the demand for these minerals and metals will increase six times by 2050, compared to today's needs.

Can recycling be part of the solution?

According to the IEA, recycling will reduce the need for primary minerals by about 10% by 2040. In other words, increased production of minerals and metals will be required over a long period of time.
